photo dilemma

I have a blog problem! Help!

Last night I found out that I've reached my maximum space for photographs on my blog. 1 GB. I can pay for more space, but I'm obviously not doing that. I have over 3 years of blog posts on here.

Do I:
a) start on new blog?
b) delete old posts? (which kind of feels devastating)
c) go back through and delete the old pictures? (I tried this with a few posts and it felt rather tedious and didn't seem to help)

I'm leaning towards the start of a new blog so I don't have to delete ANYTHING.
This probably doesn't feel like a big deal to you, but I've had this blog since July of 2009 and it feels pretty strange to even consider starting another. But if I can't post pictures I'm definitely willing to move on and start afresh.
Any feedback is appreciated.

This last week was much busier than anticipated:
Monday night- make huge pot of LENTIL COCONUT CURRY and jasmine rice to last two people the entire week.
Tuesday night- Gold's Gym, finished knitting my infinity scarf that I started LAST YEAR and secretly watch Glee on Netflix (I said secretly)
Wednesday night- PRISM concert (while skipping choir practice)
Thursday night- Hot Yoga
Tonight-  Birthday drinks party for Frank

Ben is playing his 4th concert of the week tonight. He actually almost forgot that Trombone Choir and his Trombone Octet were performing for the Florida State PRISM concert. It's an awesome performance concept, especially for those who are patience-impaired. They had to add a 4th concert because the usual 3 concerts would sell out. There are about 30 different instrumental music acts on the program. They organize it so that each act goes on immediately after the other. So if the orchestra is playing on the main stage they'll have another smaller group setting up in a different part of the auditorium. Immediately after the orchestra finishes they kill the lights and immediately throw a spotlight on the next group, and so on and so forth. Each group is allowed 3 minutes and the show is about 2 hours long. It mostly features the FSU Marching Chiefs, but there were also other groups within the school of music. Luckily, both of Ben's groups perform within the first hour, so he can leave afterwards.

It was cloudy and rainy Monday-Wednesday this week, which meant both Ben and I were suffering from allergy and sinus-related symptoms. With the help of some 12-hour relief nasal spray and some clear skies yesterday, I almost feel back to normal. I even went to Hot Yoga yesterday and didn't come home with immense sinus pressure. Glorious.

Work has been busy because I've had to help arrange and hold interviews/skills tests for my position amidst all of Amberly's work and my own. It has definitely made the day go more quickly. We'll hopfully have a worthy applicant by next week and then that person can come sit with me for a few days to get a feel for things before I abandon them.

I'm happy it's Friday.
I haven't had time to clean or do any projects at home, so Saturday and Sunday are desperately welcomed.
Hope your last day of November 2012 is a good one.
DECEMBER! What a lovely month.

thanksgiving instagrams

Amelia looking regal.

I feel fairly scattered today.
Couldn't fall asleep last night.
Woke up badly wishing that I could stay in bed.
For the majority of the day I haven't been able to focus on much of anything besides my class schedule for the spring.
It's so confusing. At Bethel you had 1-2 options for a class meeting time.
At FSU there are anywhere from 1-9 options for each class.
That means there are WAY too many ways you can build a schedule.

I also feel like I'm playing a game with the university because I'm a Non-Degree Seeking student.
If I had known better I would have just registered as an undergrad so I could sign up for classes sooner. They don't tell you that in the hand book.
Now I have to wait until Jan. 4 to register for classes (which are mostly full), wait at my computer during for Add/Drop week, e-mail professors to see if they'll let me in, most likely be redirected to Admissions, who will redirect me elsewhere....
If I whine enough will they let me take the classes I want?
Why do I have to whine in the first place?
I have a lot of questions that I hope someone can answer.
Oh, to just be a number. Not a lot of fun.
I have a conference call with Dr. Moon after work today. Psych of Personality classes are full at FSU, but I'm going to see if another Psych course will suffice, like Social Psychology. I know everything will work itself out, but I hate being put through this process.

I have Thanksgiving photos, but here are some instagrams for now.

I pulled out our meager box of Christmas decorations and put a few up. I'll put the rest of them up sometime this week.
That means I finally had to take our Piper Root wedding bunting down.

We went out for a drink on the eve of Thanksgiving.
Tradition is now 3 years running.
We knew Fermentation Lounge would be open.

Having coffee and orange juice is a most ideal part of breakfast.
We don't really have juice around all that much because it's just sugar water, but there are special occasions.
Drinking mimosas, cooking and watching the Macy's parade was very pleasurable.

2 weeks of school, 1 week of finals and we are SO out of here.

trombone choir

Ben had his trombone choir concert last night. It was very cute to see a bunch of trombone nerds wandering the halls. The concert was very good. Ben is one of the elite 8 that play in Band A, mostly made of grad students (I think). The music sounded very nice. He is 3rd from the right in the picture.

I just went Thanksgiving grocery shopping over my lunch hour.
I know I said that we were going to get together with friends, but that group is starting to look pretty large and I don't really want to spend my Thanksgiving feeling awkward around a bunch of people I don't know.
I think our Thanksgiving will be a relaxing day with just the two of us and look something like this:

1) Coffee and mimosas in the morning while we cook

2) Ham, stuffing, roasted asparagus and green beans, sweet potatoes with pecans and brown sugar, orange cranberry relish (Publix brand. It actually looked really good!), and mini pumpkin pies with homemade whipped topping
(We will only have turkey if I can find a smaller version, but I'm thinking one meat is enough. If you can imagine, The Schmeichel's often chose pork over turkey for Thanksgiving dinner.)

3) Frisbee golf (or some form of recreation)

4) Movies while reclining with Amelia (she will be with us until Friday)

Work is pretty much dead. A lot of folks are already out of the office, but tomorrow will definitely be worse. (3 weeks, 3 days to go!)

I'm sure I'll be bored and will want to post something tomorrow, but in case I don't...

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

frisbee golf

I am just wondering if I have any new readers since I put my blog link on Facebook?
I've not ever done that before and it made me nervous.
This has been more of an "if you found me, good for you" blog.
Or you became a subscriber while I was in Spain.
Or you're a friend or family member that really just cares about my seasonal allergy forecast.
(I have to warn you now that your daily news is often just pertaining to the horrendous allergy conditions of Tallahassee, the food I eat and the horrible experiences I have when I travel.)
So if you're new, you ought to make yourselves known in the comments section, just for sake of inventory.

What a great weekend I had. I'm glad I get an even longer one in 3 days.
On Friday night we went to see the Dirty Dozen Brass Band at Club Down Under (FSU's on-campus bar). Amazing performers and a great show!

I was planning on doing a few more projects on Saturday, but we went frisbee golfing at Tom Brown Park instead.
I've been avoiding frisbee golf because I don't know how to throw a frisbee very far.
I'm pretty bad. You should have seen me.
Ben has been playing Ultimate Frisbee for about 15 years, so he's quite good.
He's also a patient teacher. I think I really improved from hole 1 to hole 18.
I at least improved enough that I actually want to go out again. Maybe during Thanksgiving.
It's a very pleasing sport to play during the Florida fall/winter.

As of now, we're planning on creating a Thanksgiving meal with a few other FSU music school friends. I hope we don't poison each other (as far as the turkey is concerned).
